Valery Rozov BASE Jump from Mount Kilimanjaro

Valery Rozov, a well-known Russian B.A.S.E. jumper and mountaineer has conquered the highest point in Africa (5,895 meters), and made the first ever B.A.S.E. jump from Mount Kilimanjaro, from an altitude of 5,460 meters above sea level. During the jump, Rozov spent more than one minute in freefall and travelled a horizontal distance of more than 3 kilometers. The elevation change between the jump point (5,460 meters) and the point of landing (the Barranco Camp, 3,950 meters) was more than 1,500 meters.

He has won multiple medals and trophies in national and international skydiving and BASE jumping events. James has performed close to a thousand jumps from hundreds of objects all over the world. In addition to fun jumping, James has also participated in public demonstrations, world record attempts and film & TV projects.

Captured on a Go Pro camera, the nerve shredding video shows the gutsy group soaring through the air, each competing for the fastest time in the World Base Race, 2014.

Filmed in Innfjorden, Norway, the adrenaline junkies are seen flying merely metres away from the mountain’s jagged rocks in an effort to get the quickest time.

Invited as part of an exclusive group, Russian divers, Ratmir Nagimianov 30, Gleb Vorevodin, 37, and Alexey Drozdov, 37, were chosen as three of the best thirty jumpers in the world.

But although each of the barmy bunch were desperate to prove their worth on the world stage, it was Gleb Vorevodin who managed to outperform the competition and take the title.
